Return of the Burning Kings
King Barrett Everdale
King Barrett is a bear of a man in his mid-fifties who sits uncomfortably upon his throne. His better years lie behind him along with his more glorious accomplishments. Before his father’s death, Barrett was a raucous youth who excelled at combat and took to championing any cause that gave him good reason to test his mettle. The Wandering Prince, he was called in those days. He even led a campaign to slay the black dragon, Balesheck, and took home his head for a trophy. Nowadays, he wears the crown like a heavy burden. He is not an irresponsible ruler. He understands the nobility and importance of his position, and would never abandon his kingdom. He is also well aware of the toll his body has taken over the years. What adventures are left to be had are better left for the younger heroes of the day.
King Barrett is known to be stubborn and quick to set his mind. He is often given to wistful tales of his adventurous youth, and is always eager to meet with adventurers. He will often throw banquets in their honor for even relatively minor deeds of valor.
